Self-Care Tip: Take a Gratitude Break

Self-Care Tip #1 -  Take a gratitude break!  Set an alarm on your phone for a daily gratitude break.  When the alarm goes off, stop whatever you are in the middle of and find a calm place.  Sometimes if I’m in a busy place, I will walk outside or find a bench to sit on outside and reflect on what I’m grateful for that day.  Doing this on a daily basis helps me to remember what is important in my life.  It could be the most stressful day of the week, full of driving kids to places, meetings, networking events and deadlines, but that gratitude break stops everything and helps me re-focus on what is important.  My challenge to you is commit to doing this for a week or 10 days and check in with yourself at the end of the period to see how you feel.  If you miss a day or two, don’t worry.  Give yourself grace and take a gratitude break the next day.

My gratitude break for today resulted in the following:  I’m so grateful for my husband and kids keeping things together while I’m at a conference.  I’m grateful for being able to attend the ABWA National Women’s  Leadership Conference in Westminster, CO and so grateful for the cooler weather that came into CO.  !’m grateful for all the education that we received at conference and the many hugs I’ve gotten to give to people in person after having a virtual conference for the last 2 years.  I’m grateful (and in awe) for all the opportunities that are coming to Hustle & Ground.

Until next time!
